Artist's Comments

WELL, I'm currently running Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 BETA and I have to say, it runs BEAUTIFULLY. This is by far the fastest Ubuntu yet and the new notification system is MINT. Unfortunately, though I have KDE4.2 installed and running, it's unable to detect my sound driver. Which means no music. I LIKE music.

I decided to fiddle with GNOME again instead...

GTK: New Suite by ~jaegriffinpark (modded)
Emerald: as above
Icons: Area-0.43 found on gnome-look
Wallpaper: Fragile Elegance, found on InterfaceLIFT
Fonts: Droid Sans
Pidgin Icons: GAIA08
Apps: Rhythmbox, GNOME terminal, Pidgin, Thunar, GQview, GIMP, Conky
Featuring: O LAWD IS DAT ME? Maybe...
Others: bottom-right clock is conky, the album art app is a Rhythmbox plugin, the start menu icon is part of ~VisionsofArt's Sienne Icons pack, the gnome-panel is modded and Gnome-Do is in use using the Minimal theme (NIS).

Hope you like it!

Did you do a fresh install? Just asking because I have ubuntu running exactly how I want and would rather not have to reinstall everything.

Grub will always overwrite the MBR unless you tell it to write it somewhere else. But whatever you write it to must be bootable, otherwise, you won't be able to start Ubuntu. If you don't want to mess with that, I highly recommend using the WUBI installer: [link]
