NOTE: this is for DockbarX (the experimental version) 0.21.11.

Here I present a DockbarX Theme for Gaia 09, heavily inspired by ~invaderjohn's work on the Gaia 09 forum.

Unzip the file, you'll find "Gaia_09.tar.gz" inside and place it into either /usr/share/dockbar/themes or ~/.dockbar/themes.

Have fun! Check out the Gaia 09 forum!

EDIT 070909: changed the packaging of the file. Should work properly now.

I am planning on including a edited version of gaia in the next version of dockbarx. It's the button background, aspect ratio and icon size I keep from your theme. The mouse over effect, the way you get feedback on some minimized windows and the active window effect has changed. A notification on multiple windows and launcher effect is added.

Do you have anything against that? I know your licence allows it, but I want your opinion before going ahead anyway. Would you like me to keep the name Gaia 09 or is it better if I rename the theme (if yes, any suggestions?).

Dockbarx developer

Ps. If it isn't obvious I like the way this theme look, works very really well on small panels as well as big. You cant say that about too many of dockbarx themes. (Not such a big fan of the roundness of the corners on the active button, though. I removed that in "my" version.)

Hey, I have no problem with you updating this theme for the next DockbarX release, that's absolutely fine. I know my theme is out-of-date anyway, now that DockbarX has lots more functions and features. By all means, update it. I'd advise keeping the "Gaia 09" name, though, as a credit to *imrik and the Gaia 09 team who created the original Gaia 09 look.

So there are no special style requirements I must follow to in my changes to keep it gaia-ish enough to use that name? I mean, I've made changes as I thought it would look good without following the gaia style or something.

I just want the least confusing option, whether that means keeping or changing the name.

Ah, well, if you put it like that, name whatever you wish.

Takes up a lot of space compared to any other theme I've tried! Don't think I'll be using it because of this, otherwise I like it. (If I adjust the icon size of the theme will it help to make it more compact?)

I believe so, it's been a while since I've used DockbarX and I believe it's been updated since anyway. Sorry you don't like the size of it, I always liked to give my DockbarX space to show those lovely icons.
